Progress updates – Ocean grid research

Updates from “Ocean grid research” (the KSP component of Ocean Grid)

September 2022

Ocean grid research

The activities are presently progressing and approaching the first deliverables and milestones. The main objectives in the first year have been to identify the most suitable methods and setting the use cases to evaluate. Moreover, in the activities on wet design subsea power cables, long term testing of samples has been initiated and results from shorter term testing are in the processing phase. Each activity was originally associated to a PhD at NTNU. Two PhD candidates have started in August and a third will begin on 1 December. The fourth position will be readvertised as a postdoc position to be initiated in the first 2 quarters of 2023.
