Offshore grid development (SP1) will analyse and propose new market designs and the associated regulatory framework to enable profitable deployment of offshore wind farms in Norway in 2030-2050. Such framework is missing in Norway today, but greatly needed.
The subproject is led by Hafslund together with Å Energi, Equinor and SINTEF. It will engage in dialogue with relevant public bodies around the North Sea with the aim to influence the shaping of national and international technical, economic and legal regulations.
Expected results
- Reduced risk of suboptimal infrastructure development and stranded assets
- Quantified cost/benefit distribution and profitability in selected infrastructure/market cases
- Recommendations for Norwegian offshore grid, including regulatory and market conditions
- Reduce time and computational efforts for interoperability assessment
